In the early `90s when the old Jr. High School concept gave way to the new “Middle” school idea, renaming our town`s middle school in conjunction with the high school, Pisgah H.S. was considered, but the school`s lady Principal put her foot down. It could remain with the town name, Canton, or one of the other choices suggested, but not “Pisgah”; she was not going to allow and then have to put up with the jokes that would surely follow with the school`s initials being, “PMS” !
