Quote of the Day – Mitt Romney Edition Part 3
“Even Jimmy Carter would have made that call”
Mitt Romney answering questions regarding President Obama assertion that he wouldn’t have gone into Pakistan to shoot Osama bin Laden.
Isn’t odd that he is so hawkish all of sudden?

JACG,
I think this article should interest you: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/lets-just-say-it-the-republicans-are-the-problem/2012/04/27/gIQAxCVUlT_story.html
It’s written by two of the most respected political scientist of modern America, and one of them is a scholar with the conservative think tank, AEI.
As probably one of the few reasonable bloggers left among the conservative right, I think you will survive the inevitable purge that will follow Obama’s win in November. The GOP is due for a long, long, hard look at itself, and what it represents. Many among the conservative right have forgotten how the GOP began, and how spectacularly brilliant its early leaders stood in the eyes of the nation. Most of them would be rolling in their graves if they saw what the GOP has become today.
Anyway, back to the point. Doesn’t it distress you that so few (perhaps only a handful) of right wing conservatives have called Romney out in this issue? He made at least six statements that contradicted what he said above over the last 4/5 years – not including the criticisms directed at Bush, McCain and Obama on the subject.
Instead, the conservative right media continues to focus its energy on its propaganda campaign, busy in painting Obama as a socialist, communist Muslim. They’ve even appeared to have given GOP congressmen a free pass, absolving them of any responsibilities. In fact, no one in my circle even blinked when the conservative right did not question Paul Ryan on the missing details of his supposed cuts under his budget plan, which came from Heritage, the same entity which gave Bush his disastrous economic plan and Romney his healthcare plan.
Have you ever wondered JACG, just who it is you are fighting for? Or what it is you are fighting for? Are your conscience and sense of morals suitably assuaged by blaming all the ills in America on Obama and his leftist agenda? Do you feel righteous when your religion is used as a political tool? Don’t you ever wonder why, despite all the hysterics, Obama has actually done better than both Bush Sr and Bush Jr on almost every economic indicators, including job creation, in his first three years in office, despite inheriting the worst American economy since the Great Depression, despite facing the most obstructive bunch of GOP legislators ever? And JACG, do you not wonder why the GOP has set it sights on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as the cause of the subprime mortgage collapse, when they were responsible for less than 1% of the over $600 trillion American derivative market?
I probably won’t be back, so save on the name-calling and instead, spend the time reading this interesting article:

First, I don’t generally call people names, it is a waste of time as well as being impolite. AEI is right leaning, but Ornstein is not. He was the father of McCain Feingold. There is nothing conservative about that unconstitutional piece of legislation. He describes himself as a centerist. One of his closet friends is Al Franken. Seriously, Rolling Stone as a source? The Koch’s are red herring. They are being used by people on left when the percentage of the money that they give away on yearly basis is mostly done for other purposes. It is only about 3% towards political endeavors. They are target of the left. Eventually they will find another one. They give far less money than George Soros who gives the most of his money to bend the world to his political point of view. The Koch brothers are very libertarian, so they have no interest in changing social policy in this country. The same cannot be said about Soros. Soros gives money to force how I live my life. The Koch’s give money to change tax structures. Which is more dangerous?
I don’t deny that republicans have lost their way. But so have the democrats. No one party is to blame for the mess we are in. Many voters are responsible as well. We stopped paying attention and expected to run on auto pilot. That cannot happen again.

Oh, I looked up your claim of job growth being better under Obama. Sorry, it is a lie. While the total job growth wasn’t good for eight years, your stats are incorrect. But I noticed that Media Matters ran with it anyway. Shocker!!
