How frickin’ stupid does Obama think we are? Like we can’t remember before 1989 and all those May 1st parades in the Soviet Union, China and North Korea. What an asshat!
Barack Obama Hereby Declares May 1 “Loyalty Day”
Who says House Republicans and President Obama never work together? From Whitehouse.gov:
In order to recognize the American spirit of loyalty and the sacrifices that so many have made for our Nation, the Congress, by Public Law 85-529 as amended, has designated May 1 of each year as “Loyalty Day.” On this day, let us reaffirm our allegiance to the United States of America, our Constitution, and our founding values.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2012, as Loyalty Day. This Loyalty Day, I call upon all the people of the United States to join in support of this national observance, whether by displaying the flag of the United States or pledging allegiance to the Republic for which it stands.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twelve, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-sixth.

Just because other presidents did it doesn’t make it right. It’s a stupid date to have an American Loyalty day. It’s stupid to have a “Loyalty Day” in the first place. We are Americans. We say the Pledge and sing our anthem at every large gathering. We have Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July. This Loyalty Day was once a nice rebuttal to Communism’s May Day Parades but it is now pointless. That Clinton, Bush 2 and Obama are still signing this thing is ridiculous and I hope our next president puts a stop to it. That we had a 10 year gap between Johnson and Ford shows that it is possible.
