Quote of the Day – David Axelrod Edition
“The government is so vast”
This is more like the quote of the year.
Duh. That is the problem you asshat.

I couldn`t take it beyond 10 seconds, sorry. Axlegrease is such an uberliberal, never answering questions as asked and such a weasel. Only the gov. is doing “fine” !
All the flopsweat must be freaking them out, Axelrod has soooo much pancake on.
His mustache creeps me out, too 1940s Germany. If you get my meaning…
More “pornstache”, like Holder !
“I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly, her comments were wrong and family should be off-limits. She should apologize.”
Jim Messina, Obama Campaign Manager
“Also disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney. They were inappropriate and offensive.”
David Axelrod, Obama campaign advisor
“families must be off-limits on campaigns, and I personally believe stay-at-home moms work harder than most of us do.”
Stephanie Cutter, Obama Deputy Campaign Manager
The Obama campaign in overdrive walking back statements that Ann Romney, stay at home mother of five, never worked a day in her life.
But he still loves Barack. Attention is turning from chief of staff Rahmbo to prime spinner (sorry Gibbsy) David Axelrod. Flak from the left– NY Times:
“Typical Washington junk we have to deal with,” Mr. Axelrod said in an interview. The president is deft at blocking out such noise, he added, suddenly brightening. “I love the guy,” he said, and in the space of five minutes, repeated the sentiment twice.
Flak from slightly to the right–even his buddy Bill Daley, the Chicago mayor’s powerful brother, has gone public with “joking” criticism:
Recent news reports have cast the White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, as the administration’s chief pragmatist, and Mr. Axelrod, by implication, as something of a swooning loyalist. A “Moonie,” dismissed Mr. Axelrod’s close friend, former Commerce Secretary William Daley. Or as the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, joked, “the guy who walks in front of the president with rose petals.”
Is Axelrod cracking up? He’s starting to throw expletives around like Rahm. How can we forget his former protege and Obama forerunner Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is floundering too. Gee, what else just happened there.
Axelrod wonders why haven’t they “broken through” with their message. One more example of Obama Communications Failure to Communicate.
As for the NY Times’ acuity, they asked Anita Dunn to assess the performance of the administration’s communications strategy:
“In a campaign, you’re not held to the same standard of actually doing what you say you’re going to do,” said Anita Dunn, a former White House communications director and Obama campaign adviser.
Perhaps Mr. Axelrod will head back to Chicago soon to start the new campaign. In earnest I’m sure.
HT Memeorandum
P.S. According to the Sun Times’ Lynn Sweet, our president (The One) is channeling the Three Musketeers. All for one and one for all. Sure.
Axelrod never promised to stay for the duration, so maybe he’s paving the way for his exit. Overall, in the NYT profile, Axe comes off as cranky and frustrated that the “chattering classes” or “the peanut gallery” don’t get the message. He fails to understand that it’s not the messenger but the message that people are rejecting.
Here’s the thing: leave if you don’t like it or can’t convince people of what a swell job you’re doing. There is no mandatory draft for the White House. In fact, some people consider it an honor and privilege to serve there. . . .
If Axelrod and the rest can’t figure out how to make this all work, maybe the country would be better served by their return to the cesspool of Illinois politics. I hear Tony Rezko’s banker needs some help with his Senate campaign.
These guys think they are masters of the universe. Well, the universe is not so easily ordered.
We the people have something to say about it. And I hope to God in Illinois this time too.

Axelcrud no doubt failed to realize he just advocated for smaller gv`t, but would be thinking in terms of Obama having more people to be in charge of gathering info from all the agencies and depts. and then submit reports to him in sound bites or snippets. Obama however would no doubt love all those extra people at his beckon and call, but would appoint them as czars with the authority to handle everything autonomously ! Net result: larger gooberment and Barry would know no more than he does now !
