A Yankee Calls for States’ Rights
As a Yankee girl, the phrase “states’ rights” always had a slavery twinge to it. In some ways, still does. But nowadays, the idiocy of a central, all-powerful government in a country as varied and large as the United States of America makes States’ Rights an increasingly urgent issue.
This article is yet another example of why the Federal government must be hacked away and brush cleared so that individuals and individual states/localities can decide what best works for them. No one in DC knows better than the postman in Des Moines what Des Moines needs most. Period.
