    First Lady on Fire!

Not the dress. Just a quote from the “reporter”. FLOTUS says it was a date night after all:

Barack and Michelle Obama wrapped up two days of New York fundraising tonight with a gala eventat Gotham Hall, where the First Couple got a little flirty.

“It is great to be in New York,” Michelle Obama said, according to White House pool reports. “And it is great to be here with my husband because the truth in, we rarely get to travel anymore. They separate us. It’s like our date night.”

Some commenters are less than impressed. This about sums it up, I’d say:

youarestupiderthaniam on Sep 21, 12:44 AM said:

Well, well, did O’bummer and Muchelle give the truly rich a lecture on how they are going to be paying a whole lot more if he has his way while fleecing them of up to $38k – the median income of the average American worker?

Of course, I am sure these big buck donors are aware of where O’bozo has spent our tax payer money.

For example, Solyndra – .5 billion down the drain

Fast and Furious – arms to drug dealers that then turn around and kill federal agents

Not two wars, but at least four and depending on how you count them six wars.

Billions to the PLO that has vowed to wipe Israel off the map and has vowed the same to the “great satan.”

Zero employed in the month of August

Inflation at 4% and 10 year treasury bill at less than 2%

In the Congressional Black Caucus wants to dump them.

    On fire.

I feel her pain. A few weeks ago, when the family and I were treated to a free-for-us vacation at a $50,000 a week private resort on Martha’s Vineyard, it was all we could do to use the same beach.

    Michelle’s not so private hell

Well, we may have wondered if Carla Bruni’s scoop were true but I think we can wonder no more.

Michelle Obama may like the perks of the presidency but she’s taken advantage of them–with a vengeance.

You’ll note she didn’t get any shopping in at the Vineyard, after the president publicly made a lame joke about it, prior to the trip.

And who in the White House is leaking this stuff about her travel expenses? I suppose the campaign wants to rein in her reign.

Cuz Barack sure has trouble doing that, he’s too busy demonizing the country.

Another ObamaCare Ruling from on High at HHS

There’s a form of opt out for religious entities, but it’s not enough. Insurers must cover birth control with no copays:

Generic versions of the pill are available for as little as $9 a month. Still, about half of all pregnancies are unplanned. Many are among women using some form of contraception, and forgetting to take the pill is a major reason.

Not even having to pay for it will presumably enable even more forgetfulness. And more systemic abuse.

This is not really healthcare either, it’s a lifestyle choice, though widely prevalent, but it’s not limited to what we most commonly think of as birth control:

The requirement applies to all forms of birth control approved by the Food and Drug Administration. That includes the pill, intrauterine devices, the so-called morning-after pill, and newer forms of long-acting implantable hormonal contraceptives that are becoming widely used in the rest of the industrialized world.

Coverage with no copays for the morning-after pill is likely to become the most controversial part of the change. The FDA classifies Plan B and Ella as birth control, but some religious conservatives see the morning-after drugs as abortion drugs. The rules HHS issued Monday do not require coverage of RU-486 and other drugs to chemically induce an abortion.

And what this ruling does as well is increase costs–eventually leading to rationing health care to less politically correct people and real diseases.

More threats from the feminist left

Joan Walsh: “A Lot Is Not Known” About Bachmann’s Foster Children It’s predictable, but still shocking and sick when you see it.

So was Michelle Bachmann somehow a slut for caring for children not her own?

    Top comment:

My God!  This filthy extreme left Obamamaniac is really going to go after the foster children of Rep Bachman? I had to listen to this clip 3x to believe she actually said that. Obama’s children are off limits, but the extreme left is already planning to go after Rep Bachman’s children, and openly saying it publicly? I have never seen or heard anything as filthy or sleazy, and I’ve heard and seen a lot. Ms Walsh has hit a new low for the extreme left. I don’t know how you get dirtier than this. Obama should publicly reprimand her and tell the extreme left that people’s children are off limits, that is unless this started out of the White House?

Bachmann’s closing on Romney even in New Hampshire, so she’s getting the Palin treatment. Good luck with that. Obama poll numbers lately. And those other inconvenient numbers.

Can we have school choice already?

My kids are out, thank God, but every time I see a story like this I get so steamed.

Most parents are too cowed by the possibility there will be reprisals by teachers against their child so they stay silent–unless they can afford private school.

I thought W’s No Child Left Behind might be the best we could do to break the unions at the national level, but states circumvented it.

We are at the point now I think where the only thing is to follow the Walker lead, stop the collective bargaining, push for school choice, and vote REPUBLICAN whenever you can.

We can’t afford our kids to be so ill-served as to think Big Gov is the way the truth and the life, especially when it won’t be there for them. They’ll be there for it.

Michelle O meets with Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, one of President Jacob Zuma’s three wives

…at his official residence. Zuma was scheduled to be out of the country. That’s South Africa. Three wives. According to Wiki he’s been married quite a lot, including a “fiancee” by another name he was supposedly to marry last December.

    Charges of 3 rapes

    A sex scandal:

South Africa has an unemployment rate upwards of 30 percent. In some communities the percentage is even higher. The idea that a president would spend more time dealing with sex scandals instead of fixing the country’s economic woes does not sit well with many people, says Spio-Garbrah.

“Zuma has always presented himself as the common man. The problem for many South Africans is ‘if half of us are unemployed and the rest are barely surviving, how come you can afford to have 19 children, three wives and one girlfriend?'” he says. “For someone who doesn’t have job, who can’t even afford to feed his family, for Zuma to be going around and fathering children left, right and center would irk such a person.”

Former member of the communist party. Living large.

Then there are the corruption charges, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary in most countries, not to mention Chicago.

No wonder he’s out of the country, the State Dept. probably insisted on it.

But why go there in the first place and give recognition in any way to this disgusting president? Before they had apartheid, now polygamy is honored in their leading family. (I guess cuz it’s “anti-colonial” it’s OK) The official line:

“She’s coming on this trip to talk about women’s development and youth development, and South Africa’s a leader in that, not only on the continent but globally,” said Elizabeth Trudeau, spokesman for the US embassy in Pretoria.

    Quite the role model.

Wreckovery Summer in the City TWO. Michelle

Buy one get one free. Not so much.

Yessiree, Michelle O is going to be the president’s secret weapon this year. One of his best assets. Will she hold another beer summit in the White House?

More Chicago flash mob reaction. It wasn’t just a suburban biker–two doctors in town for a convention were attacked–on or near what we call here the Magnificent Mile. You know, near the lake. Near the Gold Coast where Oprah has her perch. A comment from the Tribune story:

Sick-of-the-Chicago-Way at 8:02 AM June 07, 2011 We have a president and Congress that wants to redistribute wealth.  These kids simply chose to remove the middle man from the deal.  Perhaps the solution is a government program that directly gives “disadvantaged” youth Ipads and Iphones

    Yes we can. Let’s Move.

P.S. Why does Chicago have one of the highest crime rates in the country? Why is Chicago’s population back to 1920’s levels? In other news, Dems overturn the 2010 midterms in Illinois. …Maybe these women will wise up this time and be immune to Michelle’s message. Especially if they can’t move.

Perhaps MO should rethink or at least think through this “My Plate” thing ! I went to Burger Doodle and ate in the car, or pickup, and got it in a bag, not a plate, but it covered all five of the things on “The Food Plate”. Yep, a Whopper Jr with fries and a coke ! The bun took care of the grains (wheat and dairy), the burger handled the protein, the termater is a fruit (I knew that), the lettuce, onions and fried taties (vegebles), the ketchup is more mater fruit and the mayo has a hen egg in it (more dairy). The Coke was a splurgy type reward cause I pitched out some of the fry tips for the sparrows. I`m a good guy that way !

See………covered the whole thing and I`ll bet MO wouldn`t have approved of any of it ! The fries were really fresh and extra salty ! Mmmmmm mmmmmmm mmMMMmm !

    Is Michelle Barack’s Secret Weapon?

You decide, I’m only partly joking, but already we are bracing for the full-blown campaign. She’s still more popular than he is so why wouldn’t they put her in play. And the press around here will cover for her.

We know it’s going to be nasty because Barack has nothing good to run on. The generic GOP candidate narrowly edges the Barackstar this time round but will competence be enough to cut it?

Will Michelle cultivate the Jackie O look again or will the gloves come off.

The Scolding Of America’s Child Emperor

I am not a Bible scholar, but I do know this:  Israel is the apple of God’s eye and radical Islam despises her.  The covenant between God and the people of Israel is recorded in Genesis 17:7-8:

7 “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. 8 “I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

After sitting in Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church for twenty years, I think it is safe to assume that America’s Child Emperor was never introduced to this covenant by the venerable reverend.

God created, defends and constantly watches over Israel.  Evidence for this statement can be found in Deuteronomy 11:10-12:

10 “For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you used to sow your seed and water it with your foot like a vegetable garden. 11 “But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12 a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.”

God’s pledge to curse any nation that attacked Israel is demonstrated in the attack of the Amalekites upon Israel.  The Amalekites became associated with ruthlessness and trickery and tyranny, even more so than Pharaoh or the Philistines, and required a ruthless response.

The prophet Obadiah writes in Obadiah 1:15:  “As you have done (to Israel), it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”

Will the distaste of America’s Child Emperor for traditional American allies become legendary?

Long overdue, in my humble opinion, Jewish donors and fund-raisers are warning the Obama re-election campaign that the president is at risk of losing financial support because of concerns about his handling of Israel.

On Thursday, May 19, 2011 America’s Child Emperor made an unprecedented demand that Israel must surrender territory crucial to its very existence. Israel is the only state in the Middle East with a judiciary system that is honest, has an independent media, credible political parties and free and fair elections.  He expects Netanyahu to negotiate Israel’s destiny with Islamic radicals who want no part of these things.  It’s as though the ghost of Yasser Arafat is whispering in Obama’s ear.

The biblical references mentioned above are deliberate because this president is choosing to ignore God’s covenant with the Israeli people and His promise “As you have done (to Israel), it shall be done to you; your reprisal shall return upon your own head.”

He is doing much more than stirring up a hornet’s nest.  He is incurring the wrath of God.

Israel was created by a sovereign act of God 3500 years ago.  What God has created no man, and especially this president, shall put asunder.  Modern-era liberals have moved away from the teachings of the Bible.  Their ignorance is astounding.  Were they residents of Sderot, the most heavily bombed place in the world, their tune would be wholly different.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s public scolding of this president was courageous. Tuesday he will address a joint session of Congress and later the annual gathering of Washington’s most powerful pro-Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.  Today, May 22nd, America’s Child Emperor will address AIPAC in what the Obama regime hopes will dispel the fears of Israel’s supporters.

AIPAC President Lee Rosenberg has sent an e-mail to delegates not to boo President Barack Obama during his speech to the AIPAC annual policy conference on Sunday. “We ask that you act and react to every speech, address, and briefing that will be offered as part of the conference program in only the most positive manner,” Rosenberg wrote.

Rosenberg’s e-mail is clearly targeted at responses to Obama’s speech, as there is no concern that the AIPAC delegates will heckle Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or other Israeli speakers.

Not only did they not boo, but they gave him a very warm welcome and seemed to be cheering him by the time they left.

    Dana, Lost in Adoration

Someone check the liturgical calendar.  The Washington Post thinks it is Advent.  That’s the only explanation for the column today: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/obama-lost-in-thought/2011/04/26/AF0FrwsE_story.html?hpid=z3 by Dana Milbanks.  That or the piece was supposed to be in their religion column, On Faith.

Dana clearly wants us to stop all this complaining over pesky things like an unexplained mission in Libya, the skyrocketing debt/deficit spending, 5$ gas and unemployment that remains at over 9%.  If only these peasants would recognize how great a grace it is   to have him at the nation’s helm.

We’ve heard this purple prose before, Obama as sort of and then actually a God, Obama as the chosen one, as the healer of the nation and indeed the world, as the (Insert glorious praise here) who suffers tragically from the fact that some of us don’t get him because we’re too stupid.  We’re the idiots who have the unmitigated gall to want lower taxes and think spending more than we have in perpetuity is not a smart fiscal policy for any entity, let alone a nation that wants to remain free.  But we’re the ones who are not serious.

We don’t understand his nuancedness; we don’t live in the high theoretical world of our commander-in-chief where we can pontificate about living within our means doing important things while spending hand over fist (6.85 million per minute) and jetting from DC to Chicago to New York for a taping with Oprah and then three fundraisers.

Hell, we don’t buy the right cars or eat the right foods.  We’re like those awkward teens that just don’t get how to act in high school, or Eliza Dolittle before Henry Higgins has showered her with his gifts.  We’re not smartity smart like Sir Smartness and his knights of the Post, Times and MSM who know so much better.  If we were as smartity smart, we’d ponder the way our POTUS ponders, we’d decide as our POTUS decides.  We’d agree with the POTUS if he chose Pepsi over Coke, if he favored butter over oil, and paper over plastic.  We just need to have more Faith!   We  need to believe as Krugman and Dana obviously believe, that we need to spend more, legislate more, and that all our ills stem from anything other than current fiscal policy.

If we just rolled over and TRUSTED Him with our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor, Utopia would emerge from our President’s head fully formed. And all we have to do is read Dana Milbanks and like him, BELIEVE. that with a bit of…Faith…trust, (all our money) and pixie dust…

What Kills A Skunk, Part Two

We heard the president’s speech. One of the most dismaying things about it, that makes most people recoil–aside from the pure demagoguery on the debt and spending tsunami we face–was that he invited Paul Ryan to come hear it. Paul Ryan, the GOP Budget Committee Chairman, and author of a brave and substantive plan to tackle our fiscal nightmare and wrestle it to the ground.

Why would President Obama do this? Is he clueless of civil behavior?
I think this comment has hit on it, in part:
Why on earth would The One invite him to attend a speech that was designed to demagogue Ryan for electoral purposes?

Because he’s a petty, thin-skinned girlie man who thinks he’s tough. He was trying to intimidate Ryan into backing off. Epic FAIL.

Was that some sort of “if I’m going to kneecap this guy, I ought to at least look him in the eye” concession on Obama’s part?

    It’s what kills a skunk:

    Part Two.
    More to come.

Nearing $5 gas in Chicago. Obama Approval Plunges. Hold your Horses

Chicago Breaking News, with mitigating greenie and mass transit plugs for The One. Of course much of the country can’t get to work using mass transit and greenie cars are expensive, impractical in the cold and over distance, not to mention having to charge up with electricity probably powered by coal plants.

I have never fully understood why we blame the President for gas prices. I didn’t blame Bush several years ago. We do need to do more of our drilling, but it seems that neither party is willing to do this.

Yeah, it’s Carter all over again.

Well, yes, JACS, I understand–Bush wasn’t really aggressive on this because he was sensitive to being accused by the left of being an oil man with conflicts of interest, etc. very silly. But he did push for ANWR and some more drilling approval which is bearing fruit now. Obama gets blame because he is actively ANTI-drilling and especially his atrocious handling of the BP oil spill. BP execs were his buddies and they are a sloppy oil company–they contracted everything out. As I understand it the major oil companies are much more careful with life, fewer accidents, and with their engineering methods–they own the whole process and are responsible.

Walker Calls Out The One in the WaPo

Doesn’t this hugely amuse you too?

Our reform plan calls for a 5.8 percent pension contribution from government workers, including myself, and a 12.6 percent health insurance premium payment. Both are well below what middle-class, private-sector workers pay. Federal workers, however, pay an average of 28 percent of health insurance costs.

It’s enough to make you wonder why there are no protesters circling the White House.

Meanwhile, back in Obama’s home stomping grounds of Cook County, IL, there are actual calls for the public unions to back off.

Other states are exercising long latent citizen muscle to confront the public union excess driving us to the poorhouse.

Come on America, let’s move! Our way:)

Oh, You Hate Your Job? Why Didn’t You Say So?

An official close to the American Child Emperor’s regime revealed that Barry Soetoro AKA Barack Hussein Obama “has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China.”  As he put it, “No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.”

The quotation is part of a piece aimed at explaining the emperor’s thinking on the chaos in the Arab nations and his envy for the Chinese president is meant to demonstrate the complexity of balancing pragmatism with idealism.  Really?  I say the dude is a lazy, gutless wonder.

What the hell was this guy thinking when he ran for office?  Perhaps he got a skewed view of public office while he was a state senator in the Illinois legislature.

According to a report by The New York Times, Obama voted “present” 129 times as a state senator. The AP reported that Obama said the votes represented a small portion—a little more than 3 percent—of the “roughly 4,000” votes he cast as a member of the state Senate.  Meh.

As President of the United States, the gelding who currently occupies the Oval Office can no longer take a pass on difficult issues.  He can’t vote “present” anymore because he’s either on the campaign trail, on the golf course or on one of his numerous vacations.

I haven’t seen people around the world who are fighting for their freedom call on Hu Jintao for help.  Have you?

He can’t contain the groundswell of opposition to this policies and his astonishing inertia. Sadly, for him and for us, he did run for president of the United States. Maybe he should start acting like one and quit his whining.

Obama wants to have an “alert system” if massacres on the ground in Libya

Come on Barack. A pathetic pretense of caring.

    He’s lecturing about history.
You know, Mr. President. You will either be a footnote or go down as one of the worst presidents this country has ever suffered.

Then you could just use tanks on your own people, no alert system operable.

…I’m reminded of 2007, when he was campaigning. It was all there (since then I remembered how to spell judgment):

On the Daily Show last night, Obama claimed he doesn’t need experience to be President, just good judgement. (The Swamp has the clip.)Did he use good judgement when he threatened to unilaterally invade an ally? Commander Obama.

Did he use good judgement when asked what he would do if two US cities had just suffered a terrorist nuclear attack? He talked about Katrina, “The first thing we’d have to do is make sure we’ve got an effective emergency reponse.” Mayor Barack.

Do we want a president who is cozy and bankrolled by a slightly unhinged anti-Semite like George Soros? Are we comfortable with a president who chooses a church by its leader who thinks black separatism is OK and Ghadaffi, who blew up an American jetliner, is a good guy? Apologist Barack.

…I give credit to the president for staying the course in Afghanistan, with General Petraeus. But that’s only because he was boxed in during the campaign by calling it the good war, hoping he would never have to do anything about it again. And no one in the world should expect any substantive help on anything from this president–despite his posturing during the campaign at the Brandenburg Gate.

Nor does anyone in the U.S., except his union buddies.

Oprah Winfrey, the “Queen of Talk” who built an empire on the gullibility and ignorance of the American housewife, has called on critics of The Child Emperor to “show some level of respect.”

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, the perpetually pudgy prima donna said, “I feel that everybody has a learning curve, and I feel that the reason why I was willing to step out for him was because I believed in his integrity and I believed in his heart.”

This is the same woman who “felt conned” by author James Frey who admitted that he lied and embellished events about himself and other characters in his best-selling book about substance abuse and recovery, “A Million Little Pieces”.  The book was endorsed by Winfrey in 2005 who later said, “It’s embarrassing and disappointing for me.”

This is also the same woman who embraced Eckhart Tolle’s book, “A New Earth”, a self-help book combining psychology and spirituality considered to be “religion light”.  So caught up in its half-truths and half-fabrications was Winfrey that she was challenged by members of her television audience for a New Age worldview that includes the belief that there is no sin, no evil, no devil, and that God is “in” everyone and everything.

Snopes.com includes a YouTube® video in which Winfrey denies Jesus Christ in the “mind-training” she espoused.

I’m certain to catch flack from those who still think the woman who needs help carrying her ego around is a wonderful talk show host and philanthropist, but I’ve never had much use for her bunkum.  I guess it’s because my moral compass doesn’t need adjusting by the likes of a woman who hasn’t been entirely truthful in her lifetime.

We told you “The One” wasn’t ready to be president. We told you he didn’t have the skill sets, the experience.  We told you he would be in over his head and we were right.

Learning curve?  Oprah, sweetie, it’s been two years.  I do believe the learning curve has run its course.  Stop your whining already.

Right on! Oprah is not as relevant as she’d like to think she is and everyone except her most ardent and deluded hardcore fans stopped paying attention to her when she started her full blown hopeychangey Barry shilling. Barry has no respect for this country or the people he is supposed to be working for, I don’t think he has respect for anything at all, he certainly does not deserve MY respect.

“Okra” has no right to command respect. The cardinal rule is respect must be earned. I’ve seen nothing in either egomaniac that deserves my respect. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Spot on! Oprah and libs have dropped the learning so low that I’m not sure there is a learning curve anymore (at least for the leftists who watch the show). Oprah is a leader of idiots and thinks that she’s all that, when she’s not. BO hates this country. He is a cultural Muslim, Marxist buffoon who is working to “transform” this country into his utopian dreamland, working to destroy the Republic and subvert the constitution which he took an oath to uphold and defend. BO doesn’t deserve respect. America deserves respect and honor. To honor, respect, and save America from tyranny we need to boot his sorry butt out of Office.

Oprah herself doesn’t bother me. I actually respect some of the things she has done in her life. I especially like when she was honest about that school she opened in Africa and said that many in this country don’t respect the need for education. Sadly, that is a true statement and it took bravery for her to say it.

But, I certainly wouldn’t take her advice on who to vote for. Nor would I take it from any other talk show host; including those on the right. I suppose that many agree with me when you consider how much her ratings dropped after she did it.

I also completely disagree with the premise that she helped get him elected. He rode the I Hate Bush wave to perfection all the way to shore. The country was tired after Bush and wanted something different and the GOP nominee in way offered that alternative.

You mean Oprah’s scandal racked school in South Africa where they keep assaulting and molesting each other?

And since when has it been brave or even unusual to espouse respect for education?

The value of education is solely based on what’s being taught. The value of Pan-African Studies departments’ educations is questionable– to put it mildly.

Yes, there have been issues at that school, but they were handled immediately. The truth is she could have put that much money and more into a school into this country and it wouldn’t have changed anything. To come out and say that many Americans don’t value education the way that they should did to take bravery. At least to me.

There have been molestation issues by house mothers that were “handled.” Violence is still very much an issue there. Go through the archives of some South African papers and you’ll find instances of student violence that are disturbing.

Oprah’s vague statements are both common and useless. It’s not unusual to rag on Americans for not valuing education. It happens all the time in universities and just around town where I live.

While there is a need for schools (among many other things) all through Africa, tossing in some overly generalized and useless jibe at American culture is hardly brave. A problem in parts of the US now is over-education.

If she were actually brave she might want to talk about something specific. Perhaps the way in which Black Americans don’t value “inauthentic White” education as exemplified by the Shaker Heights study (and well known by anyone acquainted with the American Black community). Bringing that issue up would have been brave on a couple of levels and might actually help the issue by acknowledging its existence. But that’s not coming from Oprah.

    Quote of the Day

Doug Powers writing at Michelle Malkin in response to our ’08 GOP nominee who claims his opponent is now “easier to work with” after his media-created move to the center:

John McCain often reminds me of a trout that just got hooked and is thrilled that the fisherman has agreed to meet him halfway.

    Barack Obama, Gemini Man

In sync with Fuzi’s previous post on our backwards man, I couldn’t resist, after perusing The One’s old hometown news.

    Plus, what’s Rahmbo up to.

    The SOTU In a Nutshell:

Every progressive policy and additional governmental agency designed by progressives to “improve” America has made America “lag behind” in every conceivable area, particularly in education (K-12 and college, where we need graduation rate/diploma quotas because quotas mean excellence) and infrastructure (we need shiny trains that whistle!).

Faced with this reality–America’s lagging position in the world, what we need now are more progressive policies and additional governmental agencies designed by progressives to “fix” absolutely everything . . . from Washington.

    Central planning is good.

    Long live the king!

So much for his ‘move to the center.’

This was the most pathetic speech yet. He’s such a clearly empty suit he needs a more royal setting than the people’s House to give his words any dazzle (fizzle) at all.
