Not Sure Who to Support in the Republican Primary? A Quick Quiz

You can take this short quiz to see who you match up with. Apparently I am more of a Paul fan than I ever thought.  He is coming out as my top pick with Michele Bachmann in second and Rick Perry in third.

Maybe I am just a liberation girl instead?

I got Michelle Bachmann, followed closely by Herman Cain with Newt in third. Reason magazine has a much longer quiz which matched me up with Newt.
I notice Rick Santorum was not in this newest quiz, his anti-jihad/anti-sharia and anti-invader views closely match my own, but his temperament has really put me of as of late. Cain’s campaign keeps killing itself, and he is still weak on foreign issues and jihad, Bachmann is polling nearly as badly as Santorum these days, so it looks like I’m gonna be cheering for Newt to beat mittens. Legal Insurrection has a recent post that makes the case for Newt over mittens, and I agree with it.

If I took Paul out of the mix I ended up with Bachmann first, Perry second, and Newt third. I put Paul in the mix just to see. I agree with Paul on most of his domestic issues, it is foreign policy where he loses me.

That’s where he loses most people, and with good reason. Even so, he’d still be better than Obama, any of the GOP hopefuls would (even the ones I truly do not like).

Even Huntsman would be better than Oblamer !

Are you sure? He seems pretty progressive from what little I know about him.

I hear ya, but “pretty progressive” is better (even if just an itsy bitsy teeny tiny little bit) than the lying marxist-socialist America-hating muslim Obozo !

“So would I support Rick Perry for President? Hell, yes!”

So exclaims Kinky Friedman, who ran against him in 2006.

As the last nail that hasn’t been hammered down in this country, I agree with Rick that there are already too damn many laws, taxes, regulations, panels, committees, and bureaucrats. While Obama is busy putting the hyphen between “anal” and “retentive” Rick will be rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.

More (and a coffee alert if you’re holding one):

These days, of course, I would support Charlie Sheen over Obama. Obama has done for the economy what pantyhose did for foreplay. Obama has been perpetually behind the curve. If the issue of the day is jobs and the economy, Rick Perry is certainly the nuts-and-bolts kind of guy you want in there. Even though my pal and fellow Texan Paul Begala has pointed out that no self-respecting Mexican would sneak across the border for one of Rick Perry’s low-level jobs, the stats don’t entirely lie. Compared with the rest of the country, Texas is kicking major ass in terms of jobs and the economy, and Rick should get credit for that, just as Obama should get credit for saying “No comment” to the young people of the Iranian revolution.

More to the point, could Rick Perry fix the economy? Hell, yes! Texas is exhibit A; Rick’s fingerprints are all over it. He’s been governor since Christ was a cowboy. The Lone Star State is booming. The last time I checked, Texas is kicking in a hell of a lot of the U.S. GDP. Unemployment is lower than the vast majority of the other states. Hell, we could probably even find a job for Paul Begala.

    Heh. Read the rest.

    Ah, the simple life

    WaPo via Weekly Standard:

“I’m enjoying the run when something catches my eye and it’s this coyote. I know he knows I’m there. He never looks at me, he is laser-locked on that dog,” [Gov. Rick] Perry said.

“I holler and the coyote stopped. I holler again. By this time I had taken my weapon out and charged it. It is now staring dead at me. Either me or the dog are in imminent danger. I did the appropriate thing and sent it to where coyotes go,” he said.

Perry said the laser-pointer helped make a quick, clean kill.

“It was not in a lot of pain,” he said. “It pretty much went down at that particular juncture.”

Texas state law allows people to shoot coyotes that are threatening livestock or domestic animals. The dog was unharmed, Perry said.

Perry’s security detail was not required to file a report about the governor discharging a weapon, said Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tela Mange.

“People shoot coyotes all the time, snakes all the time,” Mange said. “We don’t write reports.”

The governor left the coyote where it fell.

    “He became mulch,” Perry said.

Don’t mess with Texas, where stultifying bureaucracies and political correctness have yet to dominate practical reality.
