Why does the Tea Party exist Because…

Why does the Tea Party exist?  Because for too long the political class has ignored the people who put them in office.  What does “the will of the people” mean?  The people spoke in Arizona and the political class slapped them down.  Now we are seeing this play out in Wisconsin.  The governor of the state, in an effort to stop fiscal suicide, is asking public employees to play by the same rules that us poor schlepps in the private sector have long lived by.  Here in Florida we have repeatedly voted against high speed rail and our governor, Rick Scott, in a hat tip to the voters (taxpayers) and with our state’s fiscal future in mind, has turned down 2.4 billion federal dollars for high speed rail-dollars that would be better used to pay down our federal debt.  The result of his principled stand is an end run by Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL11) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) to force the state to accept the federal dollars and jeopardize the state’s future.
