Why does the Tea Party exist Because…
Why does the Tea Party exist? Because for too long the political class has ignored the people who put them in office. What does “the will of the people” mean? The people spoke in Arizona and the political class slapped them down. Now we are seeing this play out in Wisconsin. The governor of the state, in an effort to stop fiscal suicide, is asking public employees to play by the same rules that us poor schlepps in the private sector have long lived by. Here in Florida we have repeatedly voted against high speed rail and our governor, Rick Scott, in a hat tip to the voters (taxpayers) and with our state’s fiscal future in mind, has turned down 2.4 billion federal dollars for high speed rail-dollars that would be better used to pay down our federal debt. The result of his principled stand is an end run by Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL11) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) to force the state to accept the federal dollars and jeopardize the state’s future.

Carol, I feel your pain and cheer you Governor ! I`ll trade you !
A few years ago, after the NC voters said “NO !” twice to a state lottery, the commission, after two anti-lottery members left after adjournment, called the remaining three pro-lottery members back and secretly voted for the state to have a lottery ! And they modeled it after SC`s poorly performing “Education Lottery”, and installed several crooks to oversee the whole thing……it has performed even more poorly than expected ! I could go on and on !
The adjacent county had a property control system that residents had been happy with for generations, but the lib. majority county commissioners wanted a more tightly-controlling ”zoning ordinance”. The county voters said “NO !” at least three times ! As soon as the commission became all lib. democrat, they voted in a very restrictive zoning ordinance that no one is pleased with ! I`m surprised there weren`t lynchings !
While I`m sure none of this is reassuring, at least you can know, you`re not alone with wasteful spending politicians who don`t care what the voters say !
